Today's Psalm Reading was taken from the Canticle of Zechariah. Let me just quote verses 73-75: "This was the oath he [the Lord God] swore to our father Abraham: to set us free from the hands of our enemies, free to worship him without fear in holiness and righteous before him in all our days." These verses make me see that God not only can set us free politically, but really wants to set us free spiritually. The latter is our ultimate freedom and we should value it as such.
