The Lord God is eternal—he has always existed and will always exist, with no beginning or end. From Revelation 1:8, we learn that he is "the One who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." Therefore, we will have him forever; far from being "stuck" with him, this is an incredible blessing. Our very existence is entirely dependent on him, yet we are everlastingly loved by him. It is complete foolishness to think that we can survive on our own and be free; without him, we only become slaves to ourselves and are lost forever. Furthermore, to reject the Lord God—who gave his own Son so that anyone who believes in him might not perish but have eternal life—is to be profoundly ungrateful.
