In today's Gospel reading from Mark 6, King Herod feared John the Baptist, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man. When he heard him speak, he was very much perplexed, yet he liked to listen to him. Today, many people feel that way about Jesus. They may come to follow the Lord one day, leaving them more blessed than those who show no interest in God at all.
