****Purgatory and Hell

         I am posting a couple of excellent videos so we can learn more about purgatory and hell thru St. Genoa.

 

***Stations of the Cross***

         You see these Stations on the walls of every Catholic church. The fourteen stations are also known as the Way of the Cross. Each station depicts a moment on Jesus' journey to Calvary. This devotion be said in various ways. I like the one composed by St. Alphonsus Liguori. Here's the shorter version. The Stations were  prayed today Good Friday at my church. Consider praying it at any time often and you'll definitely come to know Christ better and love him more thru his Passion.

*****Jesus' Death*****

        It is Good Friday. Jesus is crucified today. If you can truly see the Passion he underwent for the sake of saving us from sin and eternal death, you would completely fall in love with and want to die for him! This is definitely an excellent way to get to know the Lord. The mystic Venerable Anne Catherine Emmerich had received visions on the life of Jesus Christ in great detail. These visions, which the Church has approved, had been recorded and published, amounting to four volumes.  The last volume is all on the Passion of Jesus. I'd like to read it, but am afraid that I may not be able to bear learning all the details. Here are two short videos on Jesus' death according to Catherine Emmerich. 

*****How to Love Christ the Lord*****

        To love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind is to always run to him with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. The Lord of Christ is the alpha and omega, our Savior, the one who loves us the most, our most beloved, our everything, our lifeline, our fulfillment, our only hope, the solution to all my problems, the only one who can give us eternal life, and the one to whom we are to return—we must treat him as such!

**Dangerous Thinking*

         It's easy to think that we are pretty good persons and will probably enter heaven as long as we don't do anything really bad. Well, this may be optimistic thinking, but it's dangerous. The reality is that we have inherited original sin and are on my way to hell if we don't change our ways. This is precisely why Jesus came to us to let us know that if we believe in him, he'll deliver us from sin and death! It's always wise to be prudent than being foolishly overconfident.

*****Utterly Foolish Act

        We came into the world, not knowing a thing. Then under the influence of the society we live in, we grow up and mature. Soon we learn to live a life aimed at making ourselves happy only. Christ our Savior came, knowing that we sinners need salvation, but we think we know better and ignore him. Today many even openly mock and blaspheme him. What a dumb generation! To reject you creator and Savior and destroy yourselves in the end—I can't think of another act this foolish! 

***Unlimited Joy*

        This is the joy of realizing that Christ the Lord is exactly the one who can make us feel joyful, satisfied, and fulfilled forever. It is a joy that can only increase and never wanes, for he is infinite and everlasting.

***Connected with God***

        I believe you've all familiar with Michelangelo's powerful painting "The Creation of Adam," showing how God is about to touch Adam's hand with his forefinger to give him life? I personally feel that when we attain union with the Lord thru the Eucharist, we become connected with him like a lightening rod receiving power from him. The Lord now works thru us! This truly makes living for and in him exiting!

****Avoid Hell like Hell****

         Dear Friends, I've been warning all about the horror of hell and our absolute need to follow Jesus so that we may go to heaven for sure. The Church has been lax in telling us specifically how to avoid hell, so I am posting some videos for you to watch and become aware of your true spiritual state:

*****TAKE JESUS SERIOUSLY . . .*****

because I don't want anyone to end up in hell. I have caught a bad cold, so I haven't attended Mass the last few days. I pray that I'll be well before Easter Sunday. My worst symptom is a bad intermittent cough. Once I start coughing, it's hard to stop. After a while, the chest and the temples start to hurt. Today even the two sides of my neck blow the ears feel it. I started thinking about the horrible suffering of those souls in hell. Even if I were to suffer one tenth of what I am feeling now for all eternity, that would be absolutely unbearable! So again, avoid hell at all costs! It so happened that I came across these two short videos that are relevant. I think you would enjoy watching them.

***Freedom & Peace Formula

        Since God loves us, he wants to save us from sin—so we should serve him by remaining holy and doing good for his sake. This is my big realization today. It is the secret of attaining freedom and peace.

***Foolish Self-Condemnation***

        John 3:16—For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. God has made it easy for us: we only need to believe in Jesus his Son. Yet so many people with hardened hearts just don't get it. How sad it is to choose getting themselves condemned for all eternity! It's time to wake up when there's still some time left. At the final judgment, it will be the separation between the wise and the foolish.

***Never Question God

         Of course, we can ask God honest questions. "Never question God" simply means that if we believe in him, we just trust in him completely and obey him in all things. With the LORD, it must be all or nothing! This perfect relationship perfects our existence for now and all eternity, and will bring us joy beyond our wildest dreams!

****GOD Most Trustworthy****

         Newton's 3rd law of motion: To every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. I can confidently state that "To every obedient act we make to the Lord GOD, he will reword us commensurately." Nothing can escape his notice. The is precisely why we should trust in our GOD completely.

***Being Spiritually Ready?

         There is a time for us to leave thIs world. When we physically start to weaken, we know the time is near. The important question is whether we'll be ready spiritually. For the Christian, all he needs to do is to love the Lord. This is accomplished by obeying him in all things. If you were wise, you'd want to get yourself ready early when you still have time. Once your time is gone, it's gone forever, for in the next life, everything becomes eternal!
