When we sin, we hurt both the Lord and ourselves. It's much better to focus upon not offending the Lord and forget about ourselves. For if we don't hurt the Lord, our salvation is assured.

***Only Way to Be Holy*
Only the God of Christ can make us holy, for only he can take away our sins. If we don't wish to remain unclean, our only choice would be to believe in and follow Christ.
**Better Later than Now
To receive your reward in heaven is infinitely better than receiving it in this life, for whatever you receive now will perish. Look at the richest and most powerful empires, dynasties, or kingdoms of the past, they are all gone. So forgo all riches, power, and fame, and serve the Lord humbly now to be rewarded by him later for all eternity.

*****All We Need to Know*****
Quote attributed to Saint Mother Teresa: "In the final analysis, it is between you and your God." What a beautiful, profound statement! We interact with the world and its people, but only whether we please God or not matters. So live to obey the Lord and he'll repay you a hundredfold or more.
**Horizontal or Vertical Living**
To live in the world for ourselves is easy. We just mind ourselves or go along with the world. I see this as horizontal living, as we don't ever rise higher spiritually (and may even sink lower after we die). Naturally, God is way above us spiritually. To reach him, we must rise vertically. This is vertical living. We now mind God only and follow his will. By surrendering to him, we are lifted up to him high above the world. We are now enlightened, free, and will rise higher than ever after we die.
***Two Common Sins***
They are related and may not seem to be serious, but committing them repeatedly can make them serious. I am talking about criticizing someone negatively and telling others about the person. It's easy to notice others' faults, but not your own perhaps even worse ones. In Matthew 7, Jesus taught his disciples to stop judging others by asking, "Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove that splinter from your eye,' while the wooden beam is in your eye?" The other sin, sharing your critical view of someone with others is a sin of gossip, an extension of judging others. The basic cause of all this is the lack of humility.

**Do All Things for Christ**
To live for Christ is to do all thing for him. Of course, all things shouldn't include selfish ones. But there are things we need to do just to maintain living, and they may not be pleasant, such as housecleaning, visiting the doctor, etc. Well, do all of them as if you are doing them for the Lord. This way, you keep whatever you do pure and will experience joy in the process. .
**Big Reason We Need God
We fall into sin so easily and only he can keep us safe from temptation. And in case we do fall, only he can take away the sin when we repent and ask him to forgive us.
**God Is Different
When we do anything, we often have doubts, feel uncertain, or become overconfident and take a chance, etc. But when we deal with God, know that he's always genuine, trustworthy, loving, and knows exactly what's best for us, his yes meaning yes and his no, no. So consult him and follow his guidance in all things.

****How to Love God Right****
Submit your mind totally to your heart and love the Lord with all your heart. It's a total waste of time to seek the Lord with your mind.
***Reason I Am Overjoyed***
I've found Christ to be the exact and only one I need. I can abandon myself to him, no more worries; my eternity is all set; I am loved by him; and he is absolutely a delight!
***How to Get Jusified by God*
From today's Gospel reading from Luke 18, we heard Jesus addressing the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector. They both went to the temple area to pray. The humble tax collector went home justified, but not the proud Pharisee. The lesson from the Lord: Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted. So be humble and the Lord will come to you to exalt you!
**Love over All Else*
In today's reading 1 from Hosea 6, we heart "What I want is love, not sacrifice." Love covers it all. If you love, you may be called to sacrifice, not the other way around. Furthermore, to love is to be like God who is love.
****The Lone Truth****
This must be familia to you, but do you really believe in it? It's important that we do, so that I'll state it now one more time: The God of Christ is the only one who can forgive our sins and save us.
**Praying for Enemies*
Jesus from the cross prayed for those who crucified him: "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do." So if we can overcome our native feelings and pray for our enemies, he would be greatly pleased.
*****Leaping for Joy
I usually get to church a little early before Mass begins. I would remain in my car outside the church and say some of my usual prayers. This morning I felt the presence of my Lord and my heart just went for him! I understood then why baby John the Baptist leaped for joy in the womb of his mother Elizabeth when her cousin Mary who was pregnant with Jesus greeted her.
**What to Do with Aging Years*
As we age, we seem to linger on. This is the perfect time for us to commune with, serve, and glorify the Lord at every opportunity, or better yet, at all times.
