In today's Gospel reading from Matthew 10, Jesus said to his Apostles, "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul: rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna." The soul is the most important thing we need to safeguard. Christ died in order to save our souls! If we trust in the Lord, our soul will be safe and there'll be absolutely nothing for us to fear. If we neglect our soul, then we can lose it altogether and we really should be shaking in our boots right now. Therefore, wake up and do yourself the biggest favor by letting Christ the Savior safeguard your soul, for both your sake and his sake.

*Discerning Spiritual Health
As you know, I caught COVID-19 recently. Even though my symptoms weren't that severe, I didn't feel right; I just wanted to rest and forget about the many things I normally do. After I got well, I knew that I was good again. The same way we can look at our spiritual health. Basically, if you are restless and don't have inner peace, you are spiritually unwell. Once you have reconciled with God and feel peace and joy, you know that you are spiritually well.

***God Working Miracles Invisibly
At morning Mass, Fr. Steven consecrated the bread and wine and they became the body and blood of the Lord. This to me has to be the greatest invisible miracle. It made me realize that God can also work miracles invisible in us. We may not see anything, but we do become more like the Lord as we receive the Holy Eucharist regularly.
**The Dilemma We Face
You cannot serve both God and money. God and the world are opposites. We in the middle must choose one or the other—this puts us in a dilemma. Only praying to the God of Christ can extricate us from such a situation.
**Evil shows God Is Real
After the Supreme Court struck down Roe vs. Wade, pro-abortionists have gone on a rampage and vandalized many pregnancy centers and Catholic churches across the country. Evil is real! This only shows that God is real too, for without God, evil would have no one to attack.
***Holy Spirit Presence***
If you know without a doubt that Christ is the true God, the Holy Spirit dwells within you, for only he could have revealed that to you.
**Bearing Fruit
All people, Christian or non-Christian, need to bear fruit for the good of all. For Christians, they have a higher purpose—to serve the Lord God. This makes them more focused and dedicated. The richest and most rewarding fruit they bear is the salvation of themselves and others. This is a fruit non-Christians cannot produce.
***God's Sweetness
Once you have tasted the sweetness of the Lord, you would never ever want to leave him. This totally makes sense: Who wouldn't want to go to heaven to stay forever after having had a taste of it?
****Little Things Matter*
Since God knows every little thing about us, every little thing we do matters to him and us. (I am not kidding.)
**Secret of Becoming Perfect
We are all imperfect. The great news is that God can make us perfect IF we desire it and let him do the work.
**When Being Lost Is Not OK
I believe we all have gotten lost at one time or another. I had my own occasions and the memory still haunts me in dreams sometimes. Then being lost on earth is OK, for it's only temporary. What we must avoid at all costs is being lost in our next life, for it'll last forever and we won't be able to get out of it ever!
****Something We Need to Know
All of us on earth will die one day, but let's not forget that we all have a soul that's immortal! This soul lives on forever and it's up to us while we are on earth to make sure that it will live on not in misery, but in bliss, for all eternity.

**Another Reminder (Warning)
Today's Gospel acclamation comes from Mark 1:15. Jesus proclaimed, "The Kingdom of God is at hand: repent and believe in the Gospel." Now, two thousand years later, many of us still have not heeded this advice. In general, we are as rebellious as ever, not realizing that we are the reason the spiritual warfare between good and evil is ongoing. Meanwhile, the day of our final judgment approaches.
*Christians Are like Artists
I am interested in and understand music and art in general. Some composers are more craftsmanlike than others; their compositions are cleverly worked out but lack soul—they are not truly inspired. On the other hand, the works of great composers have much inner beauty, capable of stirring the soul of the listener. Visual artists are the same. Some produce images that draw you in, while others, works so contrived or bland that are worth only a glance. Being Christian is no exception. You can superficially go thru the motion of being one without involving the heart or be genuinely living for Christ, pleasing him alone.
