"Be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matthew 5:48)

**On Fire with Love

Today is the Memorial of Saint Catherine of Sienna, Virgin and Doctor of the Church. Fr. Steve at Mass mentioned that she was on fire with love. I like that expression, letting love set you on fire. Since God is love, we ask him to set our hearts on fire. This is how we should pray for ourselves.

***Most Intimate Sweet Relationship***

We all face problems in this life. Without God, we bear the whole burden and try to figure out how to solve the problem. This can cause a lot of stress. With God, we turn to him first, giving him the problem and asking for his guidance. Sometime I go to the Lord almost in tears and he knows exactly how I feel and completely relieves my burden. The problem always goes away or is solved in some way afterwards. So this is the Lord God, the God of Christ, we can always turn to, whether we are happy or sad, feel like laughing or crying . . . . It is the most intimate sweet relationship we can have, possible only with him!

**Imperfect, yet Happy**

Many artists seek to attain perfection, so they are never satisfied with what they are doing. What about us Christians? We also aim to attain perfection, but we are always happy knowing that the Lord has saved us and is leading us to become perfect in heaven.

**Watching What We Say

It is easy to say whatever comes to our mind among friends and people we know. Many thoughts may be innocent, but there are times what we wish to say definitely do not glorify God. If we sense that, it'd be better for us to remain silent. Here's one example. We talk about someone we know, someone imperfect like any of us, and start to point out all his shortcomings. Even if we speak the truth, we are not giving God glory.

*****So Good to Know

The Gospel reading comes from John 6. Jesus said to the Jews, "Whoever eats my Flesh and drinks my Blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my Flesh is true food, and my Blood is true drink. Whoever eats my Flesh and drinks my Blood remains in me and I in him." I now know that the Lord will raise me on the last day, and for the time being I and he remain in each other. How good it is to know this! I am jubilant!

***God Has Plans for Us***

Today's first reading, Acts 9:1-20, tells the amazing conversion of Saul (Paul). The Lord Jesus had a plan for him—he had chosen him to be his instrument to carry his name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. Once the Lord set his eyes on Paul, he became a changed man. We may not get called in such a dramatic manner, nevertheless God has a plan for each of us too. Let the Lord fully capture us and we'll be able to accomplish his mission for us beautifully too.

***Beautiful Face of Jesus***

**Receiving Heavenly Bread on Earth

Communion joy. I didn't even have to go to heaven to eat the bread of life; it just came right from the altar to me! The Lord fulfilling his promise that he'd be with us always, until the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).

***Becoming God's Project

Are you letting God work on you? Or are you pretty much managing everything on your own? Let the Lord work on you so that you may become pleasing to him. He can set you free, make you holy like him, and put you on the straight path to heaven! You lose nothing and gain everything! If you don't see it yet, you have too much pride and would need the Lord to mold and shape you even more urgently.

***Monumental Utterance***

In today's Gospel reading from John 6, Jesus said to the crowds, "I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world." He is talking about eating his Flesh and not dying anymore—we'll be living forever! Obviously, the Lord is hinting at the Holy Eucharist he's going to institute. No more dying, living forever . . . that's totally unattainable on our own! What he had uttered was absolutely monumental. If you cannot prove that he's not speaking the truth, you'd better believe in him with all your heart.

***Communion Wish

That the Lord would demolished my old self completely and make me anew in his image.

***Responding to God's Love*****

Christ's love for me is so compelling that my only proper response is to accept his love with all my heart and soul, and give all of myself to him in return.

***God to Be Enjoyed***

God is not only to be loved, but also enjoyed, enjoyed, and enjoyed. This is how you remain joyful always. Discover him, get to know him, obey and experience him, then you'll find the Lord not only awesome, but also most delightful.

***Jesus Fulfills Us Spiritually

In today's Gospel reading from John 6, Jesus said to the crowds, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst." Of course, Jesus was not referring to physical hunger and thirst. Our most fundamental hunger and thirst are spiritual hunger and thirst. Once you go to him and believe in him, you are fulfilled at the soul level and your physical and thirst are taken care of by him as well. If you are not fulfilled spiritually, you can eat and drink all you want and will still be unsatisfied.

***God's Love Working*

Communion time thoughts. Because God is love, he wants to save me, to be in union with him thru offering his own body and blood, to make me whole, to fulfill me in every way, to help me triumph over all evil, and to bring me peace and joy.

**Great Joy at Mass

At Mass, I was fully aware that Christ can save me and has already saved me to become his best friend; I was filled with joy!

**All We Care About*

We only need to obey the Lord and mind our own sanctity, and he will take care of everything else for us.

***Perfecting Our Conscience***

God has given all of us a conscience and we are responsible for following it. If we do it perfectly, we no longer fight ourselves and we are set free, enjoying peace—don't you see?
