***Reason for Prayer
We pray to God for various reasons. Many prayer are supplications, for we need his help. Then I also pray the Holy Rosary, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, etc. simply because the Lord wants us to pray them now to help him save souls. Whatever he wants us to do for whatever reason, we should comply gladly. Obedience to God in all things is the best way to show our love for him.
*****Remaining New Forever (Most Exciting Living)
We all like new things. Living in a new house, wearing new clothes, visiting a new country, beginning a new year...all such experiences are exciting. Now, do you know that the Lord God can make you new continuously? Remain in him and he cleanses you and refreshes you at all times, and you remain new. All new things get old, but God can keep you new forever! Is there another way of living that's more exciting and delightful? I don't think so.
**To Be in Tune with God
Today is September 1; we are entering the last third of the year already. Ever since the pandemic started, most of us have spent much time staying home. If we became more aware of God's presence, that would be time well spent. To be attuned to what God is telling or showing us is central to our spiritual well-being. God shapes all things and there is always a message in whatever we experience. Tuning the Lord out is to be lost forever. The more attentive you are, the more he helps you understand. The ultimate is for us to attain union with him, then we'd be completely in tune with him.

*Good Knowing Where We Are
In today's first reading from 1 Thessalonians 5, Paul writes, "For all of you are children of the light and children of the day. We are not of the night or of darkness. Therefore, let us not sleep as the rest do, but let us stay alert and sober. For God did not destine us for wrath, but to gain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep we may live together with him." Amen. It's good to be reminded that we are in the light, wide awake, know what's going on and what's to come, and are not destined for God's wrath. Most of all, that Christ is with us!
***Amidst Your Most Beloved***
Jesus is the Most Beloved Son of the Father. When the Father loved us so much that he gave his Most Beloved Son so that we who believes in him might not perish but have eternal life, we are most beloved by the Father too. This love of the Father that can save us surely can transform us. It is this love we want to be immersed in forever. With your most beloved all around you, there's nothing more you can ask for.
***Letting God Alone Be Judge***
At Fatima, the Holy Mother gave us this prayer to add to the Rosary: O My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the the fires of hell; lead all soul to heaven, especially those who are in most need of your mercy. Note that God wants us to pray for the worst evildoers. Christ came to us precisely to save those who needed his mercy. So what we are asked to pray is completely in line with his teaching: "Do not judge," "Forgive others," "Love your enemies." Any of us who wish that all evildoers go to hell, instead of praying for their salvation, forgets that God's mercy is for all. Therefore, repent to let God alone be our judge.
***Most Beautiful Bonding***
People say that a good marriage happens between two people who are different from each other, but can complement each other. This doesn't sound quite right to me. Then you hear said that a happy marriage happens when the couple share the same interest in many things. There's more truth in that. Let me say that the best and most beautiful bonding between any two people, in marriage of not, whether they are different or share the same interests, takes place when both of them surrender themselves to God. When you become one with the Lord, you truly become one with each other. Thru God, all barriers are overcome. Any bond God has created, no one will be able to break.
**What Matters and What Doesn't*
Suppose you know that you'll be entering heaven tomorrow, I am sure you would feel so happy and forget all the troubles you have now on earth. On the other hand, suppose you know that the world will end tomorrow, depending upon the state of your soul, you'd either welcome or be terrified of that, but all the troubles you have now would likewise be forgotten. Both our death and the end of the world will happen. Looking at them in advance can help us see what truly matters and what doesn't.
*Two Modes of Living
For those who live for themselves, they work hard to achieve their goals, doing what they want to do. Of course, they'll have setbacks and get frustrated. This is not exactly happy living. In the end, they'll find no treasure stored up in heaven. It's is a life laboring for nothing. On the other hand, we have those who live for the heavenly Father alone, following only his will. Whatever happens to them in this life they know will be taken care of by him. They simply delight in trusting in him. And it's just a matter of time that they'll soon be with all the treasures they have stored up in heaven.

**Continuing Spiritual Warfare
In today's Gospel reading from Luke 4, Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had grown up, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day. He stood up to read and was handed a scroll of the prophet Isaiah. He unrolled the scroll and found the passage where it was written: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord. Rolling up the scroll, he handed it back to the attendant and sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him. He said to them, "Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing." All were amazed at his words. They also asked, "Is this not the son of Joseph?" Then he told them that no prophet was accepted in his own native place. When they heard it, they all got furious, rose up and drove him out of the town. Fast forward to the present and we see that people are trying to keep Jesus out of their lives, despite the fact that he has come and given us the best possible news. It shows that people haven't "improved" after two thousand years. The spiritual warfare rages on and it'll have to come to a resolution. I believe that we are entering that final phase now.

***Jesus Will Always Be Around
I like good music and the works of the greatest composers are still being listened to today after a couple of centuries or so. Of course, the works of the lesser ones are heard less often. And there are so many other composers completely forgotten. Now, Jesus will always be remembered, for he has always existed and cannot go away. Without him, nothing would have come into being. Dismissing him is impossible and will make you look like that you are the one who should be dismissed.
**What's Moments Away from You?
Fr. Goring said one thing in his video Eternity Is Moments Away today that was poignant to me. He said "heaven is just moments away." It's true and if this makes you happy, you are on the right track. Happy is the one who dies and sees heaven right there. Of course, hell can be moments away too. Make absolutely sure that your are only moments away from heaven!
*Happy with My God
Today's Communion experience. When I saw that the bread was consecrated to become the body of the Lord, I knew that this transformation could transform me into a new creature in him. I was totally happy with my God.
***God Has Made Us Worthy!
During the liturgy of the Eucharist, when the wine was being transformed into the blood of our Lord, I realized that I had been redeemed with His Most Precious Blood! So I am loved and treasured by the Lord and I must love and treasure myself too. He's the One who deems that I am worthy to be saved! And he deems the same about everyone of you who read here. God bless you all most abundantly.
*Not Wanting to Sin at Any Time
When I used to serve in the homebound ministry and carried the Holy Eucharist on me periodically to visit the homebound to give them Communion, the awesome feeling that the Lord was with me made me not want to sin. Today at Mass I realize that even though I no longer carry the Lord on me, he is ever present before me, actually dwelling within me, so I really should not want to sin at any time. Good thing is that the Lord has already taken away my tendency to sin; for that I am most grateful.
*Our Perfect Response to God
God is precise, never vague, for truth remains the same forever. He asks us to do what we should do; no more, no less. So we should be precise too and be perfectly obedient to him. By the way, this is how we gain inner peace.
